Last updated on July 9, 2008

Through collaborative efforts, with other community agencies who offer long term services, we strive to move our clients towards self sufficiency. We are a faith based organization of volunteers striving to meet the basic needs of the underserved in the community by living out the gospel message "...whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25:40)

Description:
The Emergency Assistance Program is a volunteer program which provides emergency assistance to people for immediate basic needs. Our organization runs out of two sites, the Food Pantry, where clients are initially interviewed to determine their needs, and the Thrift Store, where clothing vouchers are honored. The services we provide include food, clothing, rent medications, fuel, utilities, baby layettes, sundries, backpacks and a blanket for those who are homeless or in shelters.

History:
The Ladies of Charity was established in 1617 to carry out the vision of St. Vincent de Paul. The Ladies of Charity of Knoxville started in 1942. The Ladies of Charity realizes there is a continued need for service and prayer.
