Our mission is to serve the school age psycho-educational community and their families with value and sound educational and therapeutic principles.
Description:
Gables Academy works with students that may be diagnosed with a learning disorder of sorts such as a learning disability, a reading or math disability, attention deficit disorder with or without hyper-activity or simply lack motivation. More recently the school has begun working with students with Autistic Spectrum disorders such as Asperger's Syndrome. As such Social Skills and Fine and Gross Motor issues are addressed as well. The school maintains a 6:1 pupil teacher ratio and has both day and boarding students from out of state and other countries.
Gables Academy is a member of a local athletic conference and competes with 8-10 other schools of a similar nature in most major sports.
History:
Established in 1961 in Coral Gables, Florida, Gables Academy has a 45 year history of working with the underachieving child. Originally working exclusively with the Learning Disabled and "Brain Injured" or child with Minimal Brain Dysfunction
