The American Cancer Society is a nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

The American Cancer Society is committed to providing accurate, unbiased information about cancer, programs, services and resources. A staff of trained, bilingual health professionals is available anytime, day or night. The American Cancer Society offers resources, information and guidance in the following ways: National Cancer Information Center - by calling 1.800.ACS.2345 callers are provided information and support through a live phone call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Florida's Patient Services Center, where patients can receive information about resources, programs and services available in communities throughout Florida. www.cancer.org allows users access to an interactive cancer center. Programs through the American Cancer Society also include Look Good, Feel Better, I Can Cope, Road to Recovery, Reach to Recovery, Man to Man, ROCK Programs (Reaching Out to Cancer Kids) and Hope Lodges.
