Description:
AARP is a not-for-profit membership organization of persons 50 and older dedicated to addressing their needs and interests. Through information and education, advocacy and service, we seek to enhance the quality of life for all by promoting independence, dignity and purpose. The AARP Kansas office is the local contact for Kansas residents.

History:
AARP was founded in 1958 by a retired California educator, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus. Today AARP represents more than 35 million members - over half of those are still working full- or part-time. Approximately one-third of our members are under 60 while about 46% are 60 to 74 years of age and 21% are 75 or older.
AARP Kansas had an unadvertised Business Center in Kansas for several years, which served as a focal point for state activities. Our State Office opened in Topeka in October 2001.

Directions:

When going West on I-70 take the 4th Street exit. When going East on I-70 take the 3rd Street exit. Both exits take you to 4th street. Turn West onto 4th street and travel West to Kansas Avenue. At Kansas Avenue turn South and travel to the intersection of 6th & Kansas Avenue. AARP is located in the Aviva building located on the Northwest corner.   Nearest Bus Stop: 6th & Kansas Avenue, 2 minute walk
