The East Isthmus Neighborhoods Planning Council's mission is to strengthen the east Madison community by supporting neighborhood-based organizations and facilitating community-driven planning and action.
Description:
The East Isthmus Neighborhoods Planning Council is a non-profit 501(c)3 grassroots coalition of business, neighborhood and associations and at-large community members. What we do to accomplish our mission includes: Support neighbor-to-neighbor relationships Build relationships among business, neighborhood, and non-profit organizations Provide training and assistance for developing inclusive and effective organizations Offer resources for collaborative, participatory planning processes Organize grassroots participation Facilitate dialogue to build consensus Work effectively with City agencies Enhance information exchange
History:
The East Isthmus Neighborhoods Planning Council was initiated by a grassroots network of neighborhood leaders in 1999 and formally recognized and funded by the City of Madison in 2000. We have an activist all volunteer board and a number of working committees.
