
We are training volunteers to work in our "HAnd-In_Hand" Dementia Program, our "Pediatric Palliative Care Program, as well as for our "Patient Companion Program". Volunteers that receive training in any of thess specialized trainings will be certified to work with patients in our hospice program who have a dementia. Dementia may be due to many factors and Alzheimer's Disease is one significant issue. This specific training program accompanies the general hospice volunteer training program. The volunteer training program involves direct class room discussion as well as a portion of a "self-paced" take home portion. Our goal is to accommodate your availability! We provide a comprehensive training ptrogram and bi-monthly meetings with additional trainings. Volunteers may specialize as to their tasks, such as veteran visits, spiritual support, music and reading services, feeding, sitting and crafting activities, and other...
