The Clay and Glass Arts Foundation (CGAF) seeks to foster participation in and appreciation of the ceramic and glass arts. CGAF is interested in assisting programs, workshops, and art projects that encourage participation by under-represented or under-served populations within our greater community.
Description:
We have a five member board, with three official non-board volunteers. At present all board members are clay or glass artists. We are not a membership organization. We have four main activities: 1. grants (max $1500) to support clay or glass related activities in schools, public organizations or non-profit groups; 2. workshops open to the general public, for a fee, held at least twice a year; 3. Free lectures open to the public involving an art demonstration, slide lecture, or museum tour; 4. scholarships for clay and glass students in community colleges to attend an annual clay or glass conference in California. Our annual income is about $5000.
History:
CGAF was established in 2002 with $2000 seed money from the Association of Clay and Glass Artists (ACGA). We have received a small grant ($2000) from ACGA each year since then but cannot count on this to continue. We raise other funds through individual contributions and fundraisers. We have recently established a "Friend of CGAF" category at $100 per year. Our website is currently under construction.
