Adopt A Family of Marin enhances the economic and social well being of low income families in Marin County by providing financial and emotional support through crisis to self-sufficiency.
Description:
Adopt A Family of Marin helps by providing financial assistance and emotional support to enable qualified, low-income families with dependent children to move from unstable crisis situations into stability and self-sufficiency. We have two primary goals: Preventing families from becoming homeless and enabling families to become productive members of the community.
History:
Since 1989, Adopt A Family of Marin has helped nearly 2,000 families and more than 3,500 children by providing much needed financial assistance. Our small, but dedicated staff work individually with each family to learn of their specific need and provide support that is both focused and sensitive to their most urgent need. In addition to our emergency support program, we also provide longer-term support for those with an educational and/or vocational goal, to further enhance their financial well-being.
