We build a healthier community through education and access to quality health care. We are committed to quality and to adding value in every aspect of our work, and we strive to exceed the expectations of our customers. Our volunteer values align with Sutter Health's values of excellence and quality; compassion and caring; honesty and integrity; teamwork; and community.

Description:
The volunteer work force at Marin General Hospital is comprised of more than 350 women, men and teens, ranging in age from 14 to over 90. Our volunteers have very diverse economic and cultural backgrounds. They range from high school and college students to retirees and employed professionals.

Teen volunteers often want to explore careers in health care. Working men and women volunteer for the rewards of serving their community. Retirees want to remain active, and add depth and experience to our care giving team.

As a volunteer, your contributions can make an important difference to both patients and their families. Should you choose to work directly with patients, assignments may include work in some of the following areas:

*Emergency Room *Mail/Flower Delivery
*Cancer Center *S.M.I.L.E. Cart
*Courtesy Visits *Maternity *Book Cart
*Family Information Desk *Front Desk Reception
*Gift Gallery *BabyNook *Surgery *Clerical/Administrative Support
