Board Culture: Our Board is comprised of creative and responsible people who love culture and share the important goal of arts enriching our community and some of whom are passionate opera fans. Each Board member has professional skills, abilities and experience they can contribute. We welcome a diverse cultural group including, parents, corporate or self-employeed, and retired people. Board members are enthusiastic to have opera a part of Marin County and understand the importance of fine arts for children as well as adults.
Ideal Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate loves music and ideally has passion or enthusiasm for opera, and the importance of the arts for our community's children, seniors and the general public. He or she is able to understand goals, follow through and commitment. He or she finds being part of creating a strong opera company creative and fun activity.

Board Responsibilties: The Board is responsible 1)to be INFORMED, 2)to help the continuing mission and goals of Golden Gate Opera; 3)for governance decisions,4)to participate in fundraising events. The Board helps by getting together at Board meetings so they are aware of current challanges, and to learn about upcoming events so they can tell others about them. Board members who are company employees, can get support for GGO from their company and learn of the rewards GGo offers your company.

Position title: Board Marketing Liaison to Staff
Description: Coordinates the marketing of events and the company, by being in touch each month with staff as to the Marketing Plan, letting the Board know what is happening and what is needed. An understanding of Marketing, or expertise in an area of Marketing. Ideally Graduated with an MBA, or is in Marketing Area professionally.
