 The objective is to provide after school programs for youth living in low-income apartment communities located in Corte Madera. These programs provide a safe place for grade school and junior high aged children to receive mentoring and tutoring service after school. Participants in the out of school program receive help with homework, a nutritious snack, and the opportunity to participate in organized outdoor physical recreation. The responsibilities of the volunteer include to operate the out of school program during the designated program hours, maintain and orderly and disciplined environment, interact and communicate effectively and appropriately with the children, serve snacks, maintain cleanliness of physical facilities, create new learning activities and opportunities for the children, and maintain a working relationship with the manager of the apartment community.
