About State of Maine

The Volunteer Maine Partnership is a state wide partnership promoting civic engagement and pre-planning for times of emergency.  The members of the partnership are The Maine Commission for Community Service, the ten United Ways in Maine, the Maine Emergency Management Agency, Maine Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, and Ingraham. 

Any non-profit organization, state or local government organization or committee may register opportunities on this site once agreeing to policies listed herein. 

Any resident of Maine is welcome to visit the site for the purpose of finding a volunteer opportunity, making an in-kind donation, applying for a board of directors position or seeking training or particpation in emergency response opportunities.

The goal of the partnershipis to increase civic participation.  Planning ahead to help prevent disasters or to be thouoghly prepared before a disaster strikes is critical to the health and welfare of our communities.  Partnering with emergency management and emergency responder organization lets individuals, organizations be prepared to assist whenever and where ever in times of emergency.
