George Williams founded the YMCA in London, England in 1844. Today there are more than 2 million YMCA members in the United States alone. Nearly one-half of these are boys and girls under 18 years of age. Today 45% of our members are women and senior citizens(our fastest growing population group). The YMCA is here for everyone, regardless of ability to pay.
