The mission of the Mentor Program is to build long-lasting, positive, caring relationships between young people and mentors that will help foster the individual growth and potential of each youth.

It is the perspective of CMY that this program helps the young people involved to increase their self-confidence, improve their social skills, enhance their levels of community involvement, and improve their relationships with peers and family members.

Description:
Case Management for Youth, Inc., (CMY) offers programs and services to youth with emotional, behavioral and mental health issues. The goal of this unique program is to empower youth to succeed in school, at home, at work, and in the community. Individual Service Plans (ISP) link youth with needed programs and services, enabling them to become more connected with the community. Mentors play a key role in helping youth to build these connections, and develop self-confidence.

History:
Established in December of 1999, the Mentor Program was created to give the clients of Case Management for Youth, Inc. the opportunity to be matched with a caring, adult mentor - an opportunity previously not addressed with existing mentor programs in Cumberland County. In our community-based program, a mentor is a friend, role model, and link to the community.
