We provide free laptops and internet access to critically ill children for educational purposes. We maintain a lending library of laptops that are available for children to borrow while being hospitalized or bed ridden.
Description:
We concentrate on supporting very ill children who are too sick to leave their hospital room or bed. The child's Social Worker (or medical contact) puts in the request & we ship the laptop to them for a determined length of time. When the child is finished with it, the Social worker mails it back to us & we prepare it for another child to check out. We provide this service in order for the child to continue their education; connect to their teachers & classrooms and do homework assignments.
History:
We have been in operation for over 7 years, now supporting over 70 children in 13 different states. The program was founded in my son Graham's honor after losing him to Luekemia at 8 years old. There are no paid employees this organization is operated completely by volunteers.
