Emergency Shelter For Victims Of Intimate Partner Violence
Description:
Domestic violence shelter programs that offer emergency shelter to victims are shelters for women and children, these shelter programs are not accessible to heterosexual, gay, bi-sexual or transgender victims that are male. Additionally, most of these established domestic violence shelters do not offer emergency shelter to adolescent boys who accompany their mothers. Victims of intimate partner violence who want to escape their abusive situations but do not have any where to go are in need of temporary emergency shelter. Many of our callers are male victims. Hotel vouchers (prepaid rooms)or gift certificates to 1-3 night stays would allow us to help these individuals (and their children)escape to safety.
