The mission of ElderHouse is to provide community based health services to a older adults in a social recreational setting in order to promote independence and prevent premature placement in nursing homes. We believe that with regular participation at ElderHouse, both the senior and the caregiver benefit from a better quality of life.
Description:
ElderHouse is a medical model Adult Day Center open 6 days a week; Mon-Wed-Fri 8am-5pm, Tues-Thurs 8am-7 pm and Sat 9am-3pm. We serve 6 communities; Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Wilton, Westport, and Weston providing transportation and escort service to and from the facility. Other services include nursing care, recreational activities, personal care assistance, medical monitoring, noontime meals, counseling, caregiver support and evening respite.
History:
ElderHouse has a 30 year history of providing services to older adults and their families. We have built a truly dynamic organization. ElderHouse has received top ratings from local United Ways, as well as state certification with commendation every review period. ElderHouse is widely recognized for its delivery of high quality services and its operating efficiency.
