Carver is the only community-based organization in Norwalk that has consistently been able to connect in a positive way with low-income, minority youth.

Description:
Beginning in elementary school, our goal for these youngsters is to motivate them to reach for a post-secondary education and to provide the support they need to do so successfully.
We have after school education and recreation programs for kids from K-12. We also have a computer lab, teen center, and other programs for the low-income, at-risk children of Norwalk.
The George Washington Carver Community Center fosters positive development of the at-risk children, their families, and the community by providing educational, social, cultural and recreational programs. We believe that every child can succeed in school and at work, and grow into well-rounded citizens who will have a positive impact on the community. We encourage the involvement of parents and community leaders to help motivate children to reach their fullest potential.

History:
Since 1938 the Carver Foundation has been a source of hope and strength for the Greater Norwalk community. We serve everyone from toddlers to parents, providing educational, recreational and family support programs. For over sixty years we have offered a wide spectrum of social services to low income and minority families.

Without this community center I wouldnt be who Iam today.
