Mission Statement: To partner with individuals, families, organizations and communities to successfully meet life's challenges and opportunities.

Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) offers over 35 programs to help individuals struggling with life’s challenges including, poverty, homelessness, mental illness, parental concerns, aging & disability, and the need for safe homes & positive role models for our youth. Trained staff work with individuals and families to build trusting relationships, focus on solutions, and break the negative cycle. FCA hopes to enrich the lives of children and families through direct service and outreach.

Description:
Family and Children's Agency is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services to Families and Children and is licensed by the CT Department of Public Health and CT Department of Children & Families. The agency employees close to 200 individuals and utilizes over 750 volunteers annually. The 2006-07 budget was over 9.7 million dollars.

The Center for Youth Development
FCA offers a safe place after school, one-on-one attention and friendship through our mentoring programs, and tools for healthy life choices.

Family Support & Foster Care
FCA offers prevention of child abuse and neglect through parenting education, support, and home visits. Our Foster Care program places medically fragile and behaviorally complex children in loving homes and offers support services.

Homeless Services
FCA’s Homeless Services provide a safe place off the streets, mental health & vocational counseling, and assistance finding affordable housing.

Counseling
FCA offers individual and family counseling by licensed clinical staff with diverse expertise.

Services for Seniors
FCA offers many programs for seniors who wish to remain independent in their homes including in-home companions, home health aides, live-in services, and Lifeline push-button emergency access.

The Adoption Center
FCA has helped over 3,000 children worldwide find loving, permanent homes.

History:
FCA has been serving the Greater Norwalk Community since 1942. Over the years FCA has expanded from a small independent office used to provide counseling services to one of the largest non-profit social service agencies in the area.
