Book sorters work independently or in teams sorting donated books into categories for display at semi-annual booksales. After sorting onto shelves, books are boxed and stored until the next sale. Sorting takes place at the Main Branch, One Belden Avenue, during library business hours. One big benefit is the opportunity to get first crack at the high quality donations we receive! Training is provided. Volunteers should be interested in books, though not necessarily avid readers. It is highly preferable that a volunteer be able to box books, and desirable if they are willing to move boxed books on our trolley from the basement sorting room to the 2nd floor storage room (there is an elevator). This opportunity is sponsored by: Friends of Norwalk Public Library, Inc.
