Our mission is to tutor, to mentor, and to train students in a safe, structured after-school program conducive for learning, training, and engaging in enrichment activities.
Description:
Our primary goal is to increase opportunities for learning in the city of Middletown and in the state of Connecticut. We prepare students who are skills deficient, performing below grade level, and/or at-risk of failing. Our goal is to foster relevant learning using best practices through an array of teaching techniques and strategies to "reach and teach" the whole child or youth: academically, socially, and emotionally. We empower individuals through partnership with other community based organizations and individuals in support of providing long-term solutions for improving quality of life through education and training.
History:
This program has been operable since 1998, however, a new director accepted the challenge in 2004 to restructure the tutorial program by establishing an academic focus. The program operates between the hours of 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday - Thursday. Students are served a healthy snack each day.
