The mission of the Elizabeth Stone House is to prevent institutionalization and further victimization of women in emotional distress and their children through the provision of safe, affordable residential and community support services. In an environment that fosters peer support.

Description:
The Elizabeth stone House addresses the causes of distress, supports women in recovery from substance abuse, works with survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their children through support, advocacy, support groups, and resources.

History:
The Elizabeth Stone House was founded in 1974 by a group of former mental patients who found that the traditional mental health system was giving them what they needed.
