Starlight Children's Foundation mission is to help seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities.
Description:
When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, the entire family is affected, and the day-to-day joys of childhood often take a back seat to the rigors of treatment and hospitalization. By seamlessly blending the worlds of pediatrics, technology, and entertainment, Starlight Starbright provides programs and services that empower children to address the social, emotional, and medical aspects of living with a serious illness.
History:
Since 1987 Starlight Starbright has served New England through inpatient and outpatient programs, brightening the day of thousands of seriously ill children. In 2008 New England joined in the Great Escape Expansion program which will bring our services to the entire family providing days of family entrainment where Starlight’s children can enjoy a day away from the hospital and parents have opportunity to connect with each other.
