The Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House continues its historical legacy of strengthening and empowering the families and individuals in the Area IV neighborhood and throughout the city of Cambridge. We strive to build a strong community through education and resources for children and families, by providing positive role models for youth, support for basic needs, opportunities for community gatherings, and outreach to under-served populations.

Description:
The programs we offer are: (1) The School Age Care Program, an after school program for 6 to 12 year old children which provides a nurturing and supportive home-like environment with a focus on educational and cultural enrichment. (2)A Summer Camp program for eight weeks with a focus on educational and recreational learning in small groups. (3)An Emergency Food Pantry that provides food for over 300 individuals and families each month. (4) Computer Classes for adults and children. (5) The Community Building Project encourages the community to gather and share concerns and opportunities in Area IV (6) The Area IV Community Outreach Connections Project brings resources and support to at-risk young adults of Area IV who are in need of services and resources.

History:
The Margaret Fuller House of Cambridge was founded in 1902. As a Settlement house for over 100 years, it has provided critical information and services to immigrants to successfully assimilate into the American culture. The House, built in the early 1800's, is the birthplace of Margaret Fuller, one of the 19th. century America's most assertive feminists and compassionate humanists. Our programs and services continue to support families and youth in Area IV of Cambridge, one of the most diverse neighborhoods of Cambridge today.
