The Salvation Army, in international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church.

Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description:
The Salvation Army strives to meet the needs of individuals and families in crisis. Services include emergency material (food, clothing, etc.) assistance,Thanksgiving and Christmas assistance, Good Neighbor Energy Funds, nursing home and hospital visitation, Bridging The Gap (program for teens at risk) counseling and referrals.
Programs include after-school programs for children, tutoring programs, basic computer education, recreational activities, groups for girls and boys, senior citizen clubs, adult day health care, child day care centers, shelter for homeless, feeding programs for homeless and needy families, as well as spiritual programs such as Bible Studies and Sunday worship services. Fund raising activities include general public appeals and Christmas kettles.

Founded in London, England, The Salvation Army has existed for over 130 years, and serves in over 105 countries around the world.

helping people in need of food
 our agency is community service cordinator what were trying to do is help people during the holidays with food. what we did this summer was prepare food for 700 with aids that was a good experince for us.
