Would you like to make a meaningful impact on the life of a child in foster care? Adoption & Foster Care (AFC) Mentoring needs your help! AFC Mentoring is an organization which empowers adopted and foster youth to flourish through committed mentoring relationships. AFC Mentoring is searching for adult mentors who are reliable, patient and fun to assume an invaluable role in a child’s life. We have a growing waiting list of youth who are eager to have a mentor like you in their life.
Mentoring with AFC is a remarkable opportunity to simultaneously have fun and make a difference in your community! By simply visiting a museum, sporting event or park with a foster child, you help them open up a new world.
As an AFC Mentor, you meet with your mentee for a minimum of eight hours per month and at least one year – a small amount of time compared to the positive impact you will be making!
If you are interested in becoming an AFC Mentor, we invite you to sign up for one of our upcoming information sessions: Please find new dates on our website. All sessions are held at our office, where you will learn more about our program, mentoring, and begin our application process. Please RSVP if you plan on attending and we will reserve you a space at our training. We cannot wait to hear from you!
Volunteer mentors must be over 18 and have an interest in working with youth who have personal experiences with adoption, foster care, and/or similar situations. All mentors attend an information session and two AFCMentors trainings. Mentors must pass through a screening process and commit to meeting with your mentee at least eight hours a month.
This opportunity is sponsored by: Adoption & Foster Care Mentoring
We need volunteers who are free at these times
