Vision: PHP is dedicated to improving the lives of men, women and children living in the Santa Ynez Valley, Los Alamos Valley and Gaviota Coast by addressing emergency and basic needs and furnishing comprehensive integrated family and individual support services.
Mission: PHP has a vision that all men, women and children in our community attain self-suffieciency with dignity and are able to fulfill their potential.

Description:
PHP is the only social service non-profit organization in the Santa Ynez Valley, Los Alamos and Gaviota coast. PHP has multiple, integrated programs that are designed to meet a wide range of needs for infants, children, adolescents and adults. PHP has developed a unique and highly effective service delivery model which operates as a "one stop shop", which allows clients to take advantage of the full range of PHP programs regardless of which site they access. PHP operates programs on seven school sites including four Elementary schools and two High Schools in the Santa Ynez Valley, Olga Reed in Los Alasmo, Benjamin Foxen School is Sisquoc and also at the Solvang Service Center. Programs and services offered through PHP include assistance with basic and emergency needs, food distributions in Santa Ynez and Los Alamos every other week, assistance with accessing health care, individual and family support and early education programs, youth program, Christmas Fulfill-A-Wish and domestic violence prevention/intervention program.

History:
PHP was incorporated 15 years ago and began operations with one program. Because PHP serves rural and semi-rural communities, transportation is an issue for many low-income families and PHP has worked to provide services locally. Many programs and services been added to as special needs have been identified.

The current 2-term board president has been volunteering for 12 years years with the organization and has an 18 member volunteer board of directors. Several of PHP's programs, especially the Food Program and the Advocates for Domestic and Child Abuse prevention Program are largely volunteer driven
