MOMS mission is to help women and their families have healthy babies by offering health care coordination, education and access to community services.
Description:
MOMS provides vital services to more than 4,500 Orange County families this year, including: •Monthly home visits by health professionals who provide maternal health screenings, infant health and development screenings, support, education and referrals •Regular telephone contact and availability, especially to moms with diabetes and other factors that put them at high risk •Prenatal and postpartum classes, childbirth preparation, breastfeeding support, infant development workshops, and parenting resources •Workshops for new dads •Maternal depression support group
History:
MOMS was "born" in 1992 and since then has served more than 30,000 Orange County women and their children. MOMS is a uniquely qualified organization that provides access to prenatal care, health screenings, developmental screenings, health education and referral services to low-income pregnant and parenting women in Orange County.
