 Transport prepared, prepackaged food from restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, and hospitals to the food distribution center at Bethel Lutheran Church (near K-Mart). Food is carried in picnic size coolers, about 9 to 16 at a time. Drivers report to the Community Food Response (CFR) site to weigh and record the amount of food received. Drivers use their own vehicles. Some helpers are also needed to accompany the drivers. AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 18 or older. COMMITMENT: 1 or 2 days per month. DAYS OF WEEK: Wednesdays or Thursdays. TIME OF DAY: Afternoon, about 1 to 3 p.m. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Ability to lift 40 pounds, drivers license, and vehicle. This opportunity is sponsored by: Community Food Response
