Make a meaningful difference! Serve a person with ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Help make his life a little easier.
Because of the paralyzing and chronic condition, persons with ALS often have immeasurable amounts of difficulty doing common daily tasks. Volunteers play an important role in reducing stress level and increasing quality of life by helping house cleaning.

Although it is not contagious, ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, resulting in muscle weakness and paralysis.

AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 16 and older. COMMITMENT: 1 hour twice a month. DAY OF WEEK; flexible, any day. TIME OF DAY: flexible, daytime or evening. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: For safety reasons and to equip volunteers in this position, a screening process and training is required that includes a volunteer application, an interview and orientation (1.5 hours), reference checks, and a background check.
