The mission of Prevent Blindness Nebraska is to prevent blindness and preserve sight.
Description:
Half of all blindness can be prevented. It is because if this premise that Prevent Blindness Nebraska offers a continium of services to help Nebraskans of all ages preserve sight at its maximum. Vision screening for children and adults, educational programs about eye safety and the aging eye, training and the certification of volunteer screeners, advocacy and research are the services offered through Prevent Blindness Nebraska.
History:
Prevent Blindness Nebraska (PBN) was established in 1970, and is governed by a local board of directors. PBN is an affiliate of Prevent Blindness America, located in Chicago. Prevent Blindness America is one of the oldest nonprofit organization in the United States.
