The mission of Volunteer Council Bluffs is to mobilize and coordinate volunteer resources to meet community needs.

Description:
Volunteer Council Bluffs strives to reach its mission each day by:

• connecting people with opportunities to serve
• promoting volunteering
• building capacity for effective local volunteering
• participating in strategic initiatives that meet community needs.
  
  
We accomplish these by providing the following projects and services:

• volunteer recruitment and referral
• an annual community volunteer recognition
• volunteer management network/training
• court-ordered community service placement
• event coordination for National Days of Service
• Community Project Volunteers for events such as: Pride Week, RAGBRAI, Renaissance Faire, etc.



History:
Since its founding as the first Volunteer Bureau in Iowa, in 1965, Volunteer Council Bluffs has worked to build a stronger, healthier community through volunteerism.
