The mission of Volunteer Council Bluffs is to mobilize and coordinate volunteer resources to meet community needs.
Description:
Volunteer Council Bluffs strives to reach its mission each day by:
- connecting people with opportunities to serve
- promoting volunteering
- building capacity for effective local volunteering
- participating in strategic initiatives that meet community needs.
We accomplish these by providing the following projects and services: - volunteer recruitment and referral
- an annual community volunteer recognition
- volunteer management network/training
- court-ordered community service placement
- event coordination for National Days of Service
- Community Project Volunteers for events such as: Pride Week, RAGBRAI, Renaissance Faire, etc.
History:
Since its founding as the first Volunteer Bureau in Iowa, in 1965, Volunteer Council Bluffs has worked to build a stronger, healthier community through volunteerism.
