The mission of the Sierra Club Building Environmental Communities program is to educate the greater Omaha area about the environmental health risk in the area. Also, we want to encourage Omaha citizens to take an active role in making Omaha environmentally safe and beautiful for future generations to enjoy.

The goal of the Sierra Club is to insure that this nation's land, water, and air is clean and protected for use by all. One of the largest events the Sierra Club assists in organizing is the Earth Day Omaha celebration. Other volunteer opportunities throughout the year include community walks, community clean-ups, informational community meetings, community gatherings (e.g.:family picnics and social parties), and advocacy for environmental issues.
