Camp Fire USA's mission is to build caring, confident youth and future leaders. We spark the light in every child we serve with proven programs that meet them wherever they are.

Description:
The impact of Camp Fire USA extends far and wide in our community, spanning from backpacks full of nutritious food for hungry children to have through the weekend to helping at-risk kids succeed in school and get into college to providing a sustained sense of belonging and purpose for youth who might otherwise be joining gangs. Our programs address the needs of the whole child – physical, nutritional, emotional, social and academic. We may not solve the problems of our world, but we are building caring confident kids and future leaders who will.

History:
Founded in 1910 as the first American, interracial, nonsectarian organization for girls, Camp Fire USA has advanced to become one of the nation’s leading not-for-profit organizations in youth development. We spark the light in every child by meeting them where they are with proven programs that help them grow academically, socially and emotionally.

Beyond beads and badges, Omaha’s Council of Camp Fire USA:

  • serves nearly 20,000 area boys and girls…
  • from kindergarten through high school…
  • from the inner city to the suburbs to rural communities …
  • through innovative after-school and summer educational programs for children and teens, community learning centers and prevention education plays.

As Camp Fire has grown through the years, our pioneering spirit and commitment to youth remain the same. We continue to enkindle lifelong friendships, a love of learning, the confidence to lead and an ethic of community service. Our coed programs also allow parents to consolidate schedules for both their daughters and sons.
