A non-profit, ecumenical, Christian housing program designed to make home ownership possible for people who could not otherwise afford an adequate home.
Description:
Houses are built with donated labor, funds and materials from individuals, businesses, churches, synagogues, charitable and other organizations.
History:
In 1994 a group of concerned Bellevue residents were made aware by the Bellevue Ministerial Association that there was a huge need for decent, affordable housing for low-income families. With the support and prayers of volunteers, Habitat for Humanity of Sarpy County became an affiliate of Habitat International in February 1996. Since then we have built/rehabbed 21 Habitat homes in Sarpy County. We will build four more homes in 2008.
