The move to digital TV is upon us and we are looking for volunteers to help the older adults in our community through the Digital TV Conversion. If electronics are your “thing” and you would like to assist older adults we have the job for YOU! NETV estimates there are a significant number (244,000) of analog sets in NE with a probability of higher concentration among the elderly who may be less likely to understand the protocol for purchasing and installing the converter box.
NETV has offered to train volunteers in the installation of the converter boxes so we will be working with them to set up training sessions for volunteers. We will also be looking for volunteers to assist clients with the purchase of the converter boxes to avoid potential exploitation of the situation by unscrupulous individuals/retailers. Volunteers will be enrolled through the SeniorHelp Volunteer Program of the Eastern NE Office on Aging.

Training will be provided by NETV and is currently being developed for volunteers who are interested. Volunteers can enroll in ENOA's SeniorHelp program first and must complete an application/screening enrollment process.
