Description:
IPUL is a statewide organization that provides support, information and technical assistance to the parents of children with disabilities. Some of the services we provide for Idaho families are: individual one-on-one assistance to families of children and youth with disabilities birth to 24, regional workshops designed to inform families and others on special education laws and other topics relevant to raising a child with a disability, written materials and general information about disabilities including regional and national resources, and a quarterly newsletter.
History:
IPUL was founded in 1985 to provide support, information and technical assistance to parents of children and youth with disabilities. Since 1989 IPUL has been designated as Idaho's Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) by the U.S. Department of Education, which provides funding for its programs. In 2002 IPUL received a Community Parent Resource Center grant to expand the same services to Spanish speaking families in Idaho. IPUL is headquartered in Boise, Idaho with regional staff throughout the state.
