Position title: Board Members for Grass-Roots Nonprofit
Description: The Domestic Abuse Helpline for Men and Women (DAHMW), a non profit agency based in Maine, is looking for members for its Board of Directors. The DAHMW board meets on a monthly basis via a teleconferencing line. Our current board is made up of law enforcement, mental health and other professionals. This is an opportunity for you to be involved in a grass-roots nonprofit agency with a new perspective on domestic violence. Board positions are for two and three year terms. The time commitment is approximately ten hours a month. For more information email the Director at: director@dahmw.org.
Potential board members must demonstrate the willingness and ability to contribute their time and talents, must understand and be in agreement with the mission of the program, and must be persons of vision. It is expected that each board member will attend meetings and other board functions; will serve on at least one committee; will act as a spokesperson and advocate for our program; will use his or her professional skills and expertise in the service of our program; will serve as a source of advice and support for the Executive Director; and will become informed about our program's financial situation and make responsible decisions on the organization's behalf.
