Groups of churches generally based on geographic area are matched with a committee mentor who meets with them and provides guidance to organize fundraising and other tasks required to sponsor a Habitat home. Most faith-based coalitions sponsor every couple of years, raising needed funds, soliciting materials and professional labor where possible and recruiting volunteers to build. Committee members must enjoy attending meetings at churches and working in various religious environments.
