Description:
Lemington Community Services is a senior center which was built upon a tradition of Afrocentric services for the elderly. Lemington Community Services serves as a community resource that enhances the quality of life through innovative programs and services that promote independence and respects individuality.
History:
Lemington Community Services has been providing service for the ederly, since 1999. Programs and services offered: Adult education; information and referral; noontime lunch; home-delivered meals; transportation to center, shopping, and medical transportation; PACE (prescription drug assistance); property tax rebates and energy assistance applications completed; recreational and social activities, volunteer opportunities; health screenings; outreach activities; Prime Time Fitness Program, card club, computer, book club, and trips.
