Donor Appreciation Representative
| Last updated on May 7, 2008 |

Volunteer Donor Appreciation Representatives are utilized in the canteen area of both mobile blood drives and at community donor centers. The donor is asked to remain in the canteen for 15 minutes. At that time the volunteer thanks the donor for his/her donation, educates the donor regarding the importance of donating regularly, observes the donor to ensure the donor is doing well, and serves the donor drinks. The volunteer is the last person the donor sees prior to leaving the site, and therefore, can make a lasting impression on the donor. Being a canteen volunteer is a wonderful way to meet friends and neighbors.
A short training is required of all volunteers. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age or accompanied by an adult.

Overall Experience
Federated Investors Blood Drive
 |
On Thursday, January 30, 2003, the Central Blood Bank held a blood drive at Federated. I volunteered to give blood and would like to thank Rachel, the girl who drew my blood. She was sweet, kind, gentle, and very knowlegdeable about her job. I was truly impressed by her. She was outgoing, professional, happy to be working with CBB, and just loving her job. She really made the experience enjoyable. Thanks Rachel!!! posted by Kate on January 31, 2003 |
