Girl Scouting builds girls of confidence, courage and character, who make the world a better place. Girl Scouting is proven to be effective in helping girls build the skills and foundation they need to thrive in the real world, including leadership, teamwork, values, decision-making, self-reliance, respect for others, duty/helpfulness and a sense of belonging.
Description:
Girl Scouts is the world's preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls. The program uses up-to-date local and national research to design activities specifically to meet the needs of girls and young women in Central Wisconsin. Our priority is to help girls and women build a broad base of skills and character traits that will empower them to lead healthy, happy, productive lives. To do this, we need volunteers and role models of all ages, all backgrounds, all interests...and we have a volunteer opportunity to fit every schedule!
History:
Girl Scouting has been helping girls grow strong for more than 93 years. Girl Scouts have been active in Central Wisconsin since the 1920's, and the program has evolved as the needs of girls and the world in which we live has changed. The goals and basic philosophies of the program have remained, but the manner in which our goals for girls are accomplished has grown with the girls.
