The mission of Senior Services is to enhance quality of life for dependent elderly persons and their family caregivers. This includes participation in social activities and supportive services to enable them to stay in their home as long as possible.
Description:
Funded under the Older Americans Act, Senior Services are available to all persons over the age of 60. The responsibility of caring for a frail elderly and/or disabled individual continue to fall primarily on family members, who often carry a heavy burden in providing the needed care. Senior Services provides health and resource information and ongoing support to caregivers. It is hoped that these services will contribute to the physical, emotional, and social well-being of those we serve.
History:
This new and exciting program called Senior Services merges the Caregiver Support and the In Home Volunteer Respite Program. Our In Home Volunteer Respite Program was previously under Respite Services. Senior Services is located in the Racine County Aging & Disability Resource Center at 1717 Taylor Avenue Racine, WI 53403
