Chess Club Instructors for the Racine Public Library
![]() Here's a great opportunity to share your love of Chess with people of all ages. The Racine Public Library has a growing need for volunteers willing to help lead weekly or bi-weekly chess clubs for kids, teens and adults. We have a huge demand for people willing to teach beginners and to coordinate play amongst interested participants. We have the boards and pieces...now we need someone to teach us all how to play! We would like to fill 3 positions: one position will work with kids ages 5-10, one will work with teens ages 11-17, and one will work with adults ages 18 and older. The ability to teach new skills and talk to these one or all of these different age groups is important. Patience and a sense of humor will also help. The ability to commit to consistent meeting times over the summer is very important. And, of course, you should know how to play Chess! This would be an awesome way for high school chess players to earn community service hours! This opportunity is sponsored by: Racine Public Library We need volunteers who are free at these times
