The Fellowship Community Development Corporation fosters social an economic revitalization in and around Newark, by providing services to at-risk children, youth and adults, designed to promote self sufficiency, empowerment skills and capacity for independent living.
Description:
To provide services which will help residents of the community become self-sufficient. Many of the social problems in and around Newark are caused by conditions of poverty, hunger, illiteracy, unemployment and substance abuse. Our vision is to empower our community begins with our children. We are current forming a Pre School After School program. Other programs we envision are affordable housing for seniors, economic development, self help and mentoring programs. We are also collaborating with a for-profit organization to build a 40-50 unit apartment building for senior citizens.
History:
We are a new 501(c)(3) organization that received our determination on August 16, 2007. We are in the process of preparing our first grant proposal for our After School and Summer Day Camp program.
