Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre
[ View Opportunities ]
Last updated on May 14, 2008

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre is a small professional theatre whose mission is to bring stories to life with an intimacy that allows artists and audiences to connect, stories that reflect our lives, relationships and our world today. Also central to our mission is the enrichment of young people's lives through theatre, both through hands-on experience and through educational programs.

Description:
Dreamcatcher produces a season of mainstage productions, improvisational comedy shows, cabarets, new play readings, workshops and classes at the Baird Center in South Orange. Dreamcatcher has a core company of professional local actors who perform contemporary work that entertains and challenges, and has at its heart a belief in the essential goodness of people. We seek to expose theatregoers and students to ideas and lives like and unlike our own, with the intention of awakening their imaginations and creating empathy for others.

History:
Dreamcatcher is in its eleventh year, and is an Associate Member of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance, the association of professional theatres in the state of New Jersey. After four years of performing in the summers at Luna Stage and 12 Miles West in Montclair, Dreamcatcher performed for four years in residence at Bloomfield College. We are now in residence at the Baird Center in South Orange with the objective of rounding out their existing cultural offerings, and putting roots down in the community in which we work. Our production season runs from September through May, with the Teen Actors Conservatory running in July.
