Triangle Family Services provides help to families in crisis! Our mission - Building a stronger community by strengthening the family - is accomplished by helping children and families to avoid crises in emotional health, debt management and domestic violence. Our certified staff provide services in the areas of mental health counseling, financial education and emergency housing assistance, and retraining of domestic abusers to stop the generational cycle of family violence.
Description:
Our programs focus on those in our community who are in need and least able to afford the cost of professional services on their own. Triangle Family Services annually serves more than 5,000 individuals and families throughout Wake and surrounding counties. Our programs address three primary areas of family functioning: Family Safety
- Time Together Supervised Visitation & Exchange
- DOSE (Domestic Offenders Sentenced to Education)
Financial Stability
- Emergency Housing Assistance (EHA)
- Budget and Consumer Counseling
Mental Health
- Individual and Family Counseling
- Psychiatric Consultation
- Hope for Children (children traumatized by domestic violence)
History:
Established in 1937, Triangle Family Services has served the needs of families in our community for more than 70 years. Our agency is a leader in collaborating with other nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies. We are accredited by the Council on Accreditation and are an Agency of Excellence as distinguished by the Triangle United Way. Through the support of Triangle Family Services, children and families are able to remain in their homes instead of being evicted. Individuals ages two and above receive the mental health counseling necessary to enable them to live more joyful lives. Domestic offenders learn appropriate behaviors to deal with their emotions, keeping their children and spouses safe from abuse. And families learn to manage their finances in ways that benefit both their own family and our larger community. Together we can enable children and their families to happily go forward in life!
