Nursing Home Friendly Visitors
Last updated on May 16, 2008

The Cenla AAA Ombudsman Programs welcomes volunteers in the nine-parish area we cover. We can offer training for individuals who do not wish to take the intensive training necessary to become a certified volunteer, but who are able to visit specific nursing homes on a regular basis. Nursing home residents love to see new people, and they become attached to their new "friends." If a volunteer runs into some kind of problem, he/she can simply call our Ombudsman Coordinator and let her know.

We do not place family members as friendly visitors in nursing homes where they have a family member. Volunteers are asked to take part in a brief training session.

This opportunity is sponsored by: Cenla Area Agency On Aging, Inc.
