The Ovations for the Cure Foundation is dedicated to the relentless pursuit of a cure for ovarian cancer in two critical ways: first by proliferating broad-spectrum awareness of ovarian cancer risk factors and its subtle warning signs, and second, through the continued support of new and ongoing ovarian cancer research and treatment initiatives.
Description:
The tens of thousands of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year now have a powerful force in their corner in pursuing a cure. Ovations for the Cure, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and one of few foundations in the United States dedicated to ovarian cancer research, education, patient treatment, awareness and support, is that force. The belief that a unique form of cancer needs a unique form of support drives the foundation’s commitment to its mission:
The Ovations for the Cure Foundation is dedicated to the relentless pursuit of a cure for ovarian cancer in two critical ways: first, by proliferating broad-spectrum awareness of ovarian cancer risk factors and its subtle warning signs, and second, through the continued support of new and ongoing ovarian cancer research and treatment initiatives.
History:
Three years ago, a small group of friends decided to take action against ovarian cancer. The disease had become their common cause because it affected someone who was central to all of their lives. Today, this circle of friendship has embraced hundreds more who have joined our extraordinary journey in the fight against this disease. It began as the personal crusade of one extraordinary woman – our founder, Patty Franchi-Flaherty, whose strength and valiant 9-year fight against this disease has not only inspired those who know her, but also those for whom her will to survive has been a clarion call of hope.
Over the past 2 years, Ovations has donated over $1,000,000 to our medical research funds across the country. And we are working tirelessly to advance our mission through research, awareness, education and patient support.
