Responding to Letters from Prisoners
Volunteers are welcome to join us on a drop-in basis any Sunday between 1pm and 4pm at our work site at the North Hadley Congregational Church, 243 River Drive (Route 47 between Route 9 and Sunderland near the Sugar Shack). Volunteers respond to the nearly 200 letters we receive each month by selecting books from our donated inventory, writing personal notes to accompany each packet of reading materials, and preparing packages for mailing. We provide an orientation and informal training to volunteers who drop in. The nature of our work is best suited for volunteers who are 14 years and older. This opportunity is sponsored by: Prison Book Project We need volunteers who are free at these times
